On Thursday, the 7th of August 2014, after having finished the international meeting “Global Land Paths, Cosmopolitan consciousness and action in a planetary world", the participants enjoyed the unique experience of crossing Vikos gorge, from Monodendri to Vitsiko.


About fifty people participated in the activities, 35 among them took part in both Vikos’ crossings held this summer, while 19 managed to realize the special path to Drakolimni with sleeping over at the Astraka refuge 2.000m high in the mountain.


After the week seminar on Participatory Leadership in practice was successfully over, on Sunday the 21st of July 2014, a significant number of participants – 21 persons – did the Vikos crossing from Monodendri to Vitsiko.


Thirty two participants enjoyed the 5th annual activity, which was subjected “The wood came out of Vikos”. Despite the sudden rain Grigoris Vasdekis made a presentation on the history of “glitsa” – walking button -  its species and its use


No matter how shiny this day was during the holiday it was freezing down to the gorge at 8am, the 30th October 2011. Because we had a remarkable speed we reached Voidomatis springs at 12.30 already.


A big team of different, alert, creative ordinary people, 55 in total with 19 children and youths included, crossed the Vikos gorge – the biggest in the world according to Guiness, with a depth of 900 meters and a width of 1.100 meters.


A few days before the importand voting in the Greek Parliament on the Memorandum and the Medium Term Program on the Greek Economy, on Sunday the 12th of June 2011, during the weekend of the Pentecost, we met at Land beyond.


Thirty five people, eleven children aged between 6 and 15 years old, as well as a baby of 16 months, Luka, among them, managed to cross the Vikos gorge as part of the activity of Land Beyond, held for the first time on Thursday, the 12th of August 2010.
