10th Vikos Crossing - STARRY LAND, A youth escape to Vitsa – Zagori

A camp activity was for the first time held in Land Beyond – Starry Land from Thursday 21st of August till Sunday the 24th of August. “Charoumeno Chorio”, a camp based at Varympopi Attikis, held a four day cultural and environmental journey to Vitsa for the younger team leaders who are constantly being trained and who animate the camp programs.

The first instance was a walking visit at Missios bridge, where an introduction speech on historical, cultural and environmental issues was delivered, followed by an extended presentation on the Land beyond at Land Beyond. Eighty one persons crossed the Vikos gorge on Friday, the 22nd. Members of the team worked voluntarily for the cleaning and restoring of a path in Vitsa under the guidance of the local councilor. Another team organized activities for children. Sunday night, the 22nd, the rock band of the campers gave a concert in the main place of Vitsa, “Rock and Noise”. Half of the campers enjoyed the rafting experience in Voidomatis. All activities were brought together and filmed in an audiovisual production made by the team and presented on Sunday the 31st of August 2014 in the closing event of the camp in Varympopi.
